Royal Perth Yacht Club was the venue once more for the Annual Trophy Night and a more delightful setting would be difficult to find. Weather was fine and clear and an array of club cars was eye-catching under lights on the lawn at the front of the Clubhouse. Congratulations to those that provided the display. Nog 'n natter preceded the official proceedings, and it was great to see the Vern and Suzanne who travelled all the way from Donnybrook.  The ladies as always were resplendent and there was much excitement amonst the four males that had worn the same superb MG tie.

Apologies.

President Colin greeted members and guests and announced apologies from the Palmer's, Baxters , Lees,  Prestage's, Hayes,  plus G. Booth, D. Robbins, and R. Bodkin.

A menu comprising appetisers and hot dishes, with Table 3 deservedly first to the food display.   

Replica Sashes

Suitably sated,  proceedings commenced with the awarding of replica sashes to the previous year's event winners.

100 Meeting Awards.

Awards for 2006/07 were

Jack -100, Bert – 100, Ben – 100 (he travelled from the UK to be present at the Palmer's hosted meeting), Paul -200, Graham R- 200 and Darryl R. -  a commendable 600.

Life Memberships.

Awards were made to Ralph and Barry P for a lifetime of committment to the Club

Special Awards.

Neville G, Mike B.and Graham M. Were called forward .

President Col. displayed a publication undertaken by Mike B. and his wife Lynette of a Western Australian Y Type Register, complete with details of each car plus colour photograph. It contains every known Y Type  in the state and they were highly commended  for this great contribution and detective work

Neville G. Has maintained the club Website since inception and it has received universal acclaim. Complimentary messages are received regularly from all corners of the globe.

The Presidents Trophy, (Jay Hardison Memorial) was instituted for the Club's 1986/87 year and it's 25th anniversary. It was awarded this year to Graham M. for publishing a regular Club Newsletter, said to be often delivered (like tonight) to living rooms and offices before the morning newspaper   The Newslettter reminds members of coming events and tells those interested wives what their husbands have been up to on those Thursday nights away from home !!?? Humour, where possible is paramount.
