The Spectacular Alternative Brand New Glossy Spiral Bound, Hang on the Wall Club Calendar has arrived.

A3 sized and complete with photos of club cars, members, events, dates of meetings etc.(based on an Ottawa MG Car Club calendar) was circulated. All agreed that it had worked out superbly, thanks to Graham A's incredible computer work and photos supplied by members. One Hundred (100) have been printed and they are  now available from Treasurer Colin D. @ $15 each.  Many were sold on the night at this bargain basement price, and as they are being sold at cost of production, it is essential that members support the venture by purchasing one,  two, three or four for use at home , the office or as a memorabilia item.

Get in before they sell out please or you will be sad and sorry.

The printing was done by the Big Picture Company (Peter Stone) and Mike S. recommended the firm as most appropriate to publish our book, when it comes to pass.

Club Calendar (traditional version) had been compiled by Neville G. and was circulated. . Thanks Neville. Please note that Safety Fast Run is now 7 October, not 1 October

IMPORTANT and URGENT

Chilly Willy Run. This takes place this Sunday 12th August. Noeleen advised start time is 8am at  the carpark on Middle Swan Road (about 1 km west of Great Northern Highway. I think the run will be up to Glen Forest, Mundaring Weir , Zig Zag then to an English Cafe at Cannington for breakfast. Here's hoping the forecast is for fine but chilly weather for the . 11 or 12 raised hands.

Correspondence

comprised the usual interstate Club Magazines from NSW, SA and Tassie – thanks to those Clubs for the benefit of seeing what's happening over there. The Editor emails our newsletter as a reciprocal deal.

General Business

Mike S. proposed thanks to those responsible for the Glossy Calendar. Graham M's idea, superbly, skilfully and thoughtfully crafted  by Graham A. who put in lots of time and effort to get it together before his trip with Sue to the UK. Floods reportedly stopped their week on the Canals – the second time they have been caught in that way. Away for 3 months I understand  and Mike Hawke is loaning them a car for part of the stay

Mary Ann reported that Ron Kilcullen has the SA licenced and will unveil it at their home on Sunday at a Prewar meeting. It is blue and black with a soft top.

MaryAnn also mentioned that our Club is invited to the Caversham event on 2nd September. We can display or go on a tour. Enter off Harrow Road near the entrance to Whiteman Park – follow the signs. It will be a nostalgic day. As this was the site of the 1957 Grand Prix and it was a WW2 circuit. $30 gets entry, poster and copy of book Refer VSCC Website. Possibly $5 for CAMS if driving circuit.??. Lou Symes very involved

Applecross Round the Houses event is to receive a grant of $500 for a plaque. To be unveiled prior to the Morris Brockwell Run by Mayor of Melville.Refer Mary Ann for details

TC for sale. Brian Darke's car on E Bay at $25k

Bert and Angie have bought the Austin Healey 3000 from a Bicton owner. It took pride of place at the Port Bottling Weekend. Reportedly built for Donald  Healey

Garage Tour is on 9/9/07. Suggestion is to include a Dyno Test Run.

Meeting 1154 of 4th October is to take place at Swan Brewery. Unfortunately the Tours of the Brewery which are followed by sampling and food (fee is $11/head)..takes place on a Wednesday night. Col. will  present a notice of motion to move the meeting forward one night..

Website.  Neville asked if anyone had noted the changes. No response. The competition found only two entrants – Paul and Graham. Their thoughts were read to much amusement but lack of entries led to no prize being offered to Graham with the greatest number – drats!!!!.

Wally caught up with the Club's second President, John Pritchard in Bridgetown. He is moving to Balingup to a better watering hole.!!

Port Bottle sales. Thought that the product is still with Bert.

Garry Guy has an enclosed T Type trailer for sale at $3K. May need lid lift for a Y????

Those that make things happen.

Those who watch what happens.
